Mountain gorilla permit fees in East Africa

The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is one of the two most endangered apes in the world (with the Cross River Gorilla, Gorilla gorilla diehli). There are only approximately 350 mountain gorillas alive today, and all of them are found in the wild. They only exist in two small, protected afromontane forest patches in northwest Rwanda, southwest Uganda and eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Just for your info:

The prices of gorilla permits per person are at this moment:

$1500 in Rwanda

$600 in Uganda and
$400 in DR-Congo (+ the cost of a visa!)

These prices are so different, for a visit to the same sort of Mountain Gorillas, in the same forest (NP), that a clever tourist KNOWS where she/he likes to visit these beautiful animals and at the same time does not need to spend to much money.
